Chronic illnesses are hard. I get it. So as someone with them, I came up with this phrase (and often a prayer) to help me remember that the Lord is ruling, reigning and with me however he has determined my life and limits.
The hand lettered design reads “My spoons are in his hands” on a mustard background. You can give this to a friend or family member who struggles with a long term condition or keep it yourself and put it on display (fridge or frame) to encourage and remind you that God is with you.
Made in God’s image, we have inherent and intrinsic value not dependent on our abilities or capacity. We are human beings not doings and I find it so helpful to remember that in our performance driven world.
