I'm passionate about being increasingly environmentally responsible and sustainable. Yay for the planet!
This is the spot where you can read more about how I'm going about doing that product and shipping wise. Product listings will provide additional info where applicable.
At By the Brook Creations all goods are designed and made in the UK.
Shipping
Orders are lovingly and carefully packed using shipping boxes, envelopes and recycled paper stickers that are recyclable with household paper waste.
Naked cards - cards and envelopes are shipped without plastic bags or plastic wrap.
Packaging - striped paper bags and tissue paper are recyclable. For things like prints I use clear cellophane bags that are biodegradable and compostable.
Tape - I use brown paper packing tape that is recyclable and the pretty colourful tape is washi tape so it's biodegradable.
Postal tubes - wall planners are shipped in sturdy recyclable tubes. The white end caps aren't currently recyclable.
Products
Paper Goods
All paper goods are recyclable and made with sustainably sourced paper. You can see more details on the product pages.
- Cards, postcards, prints, gift tags, bookmarks and wallplanners are made from Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) certified or approved card or other ethical/sustainable paper sources which means the paper used comes from sustainable and well managed forests or has been recycled.
- Notebooks are recyclable and produced in small batches by small businesses in the UK.
Envelopes
All envelopes are recyclable.
- Square cards come with kraft envelopes.
- A6 cards come with either kraft envelopes or envelopes made from environmentally friendly eucalyptus pulp.
Tea Towels
Tea Towels are sustainably and ethically made with either:
- 100% organic cotton (OCS and GOTS certified) and screen printed or
- 100% cotton (OEKO-TEX certified) and the full colour designs printed with water based pigment dyes

Stickers
All matte paper stickers are made from recycled paper and are recyclable with paper/cardboard recycling (yay!). The backing paper and gloss stickers are currently not widely recyclable so please just pop those in landfill waste.
