How to Flatten a Rolled Planner or Poster
To get to you as safely as possible my wall planners are rolled up in postal tubes.
Now, as excited as the planner is to be in its new home it’s a little shy so needs gentle coaxing to help it uncurl.
Here are two methods in case you need suggestions on how to do this:
- Method 1 - Weighty Weigh Down with Books (you’ll need some weighty books or similar (4 or 5 - for the corners and middle).)
- Method 2 - Reverse Roll with Rubber Bands (you’ll need 2 rubber bands)
Method 1 - Weighty Weigh Down with Books
- Grab 4 or 5 weighty books (or jars, dumbbells or similar)
- Find a clean spot (a table will do).
- Carefully remove the planner from the tube (you may already have done that to get to this point, if so, well done you).
- Unroll it on your clean surface - design facing UP⬆️.
- Gently smooth out the planner (using a reassuring comforting motion).
- Place a weighty tomb (book or similar) on each corner and if you'd like to then you can place one in the middle.
- Leave for 24 hours.
- Ta da! Put that happy planner on the wall.
Method 2 - Reverse Roll with Rubber Bands
- Grab 2 rubber bands.
- Find a clean spot (a table will do).
- Carefully remove the planner from the tube (you may already have done that to get to this point, if so, well done you).
- Unroll it on your clean surface - design facing DOWN⬇️.
- Starting at the bottom, use the postal tube and carefully roll the poster around the outside of the tube, opposite to the way it was previously rolled.
- Secure around the tube towards the edges with rubber bands (not too tight though, so the planner can breathe).
- Leave for an hour.
- Remove the bands and unroll - ta da! Put that happy planner on the wall.
And now it’s time for a sword fight with the postal tube - en garde!
I hope the planner is a help and an encouraging reminder that the Lord’s love is indeed steadfast and His mercies are new every morning.
